Our group in Essex decided to focus on the negative stereotype of the ‘Essex Girl’
Wikipedia entry: An Essex girl is a pejorative stereotype in the United Kingdom of a female who is said to be overly promiscuous and unintelligent…
The group created a visual installation countering the negative stereotype, expressing their refusal to be bound by it and demanding that others think past it. They also created zines, conducted anecdotal research and became active on the subject on social media, via a project Twitter account @essexism
